About Christine

I’m originally from Wisconsin, but I fell in love with England on a semester abroad and moved to London shortly after I graduated from UW–Madison. I started my professional life as a marketing assistant at a small British engineering company, and then landed a job as an editorial assistant for the US edition of The Guinness Book of Records, eventually becoming the managing editor. I went on to work for several other highly regarded international publishers, but eventually got tired of running on the corporate hamster wheel. After 13 years in the UK, I moved back to Wisconsin to open Catnip Hill, a luxury “hotel” for cats.

Much as I enjoy pampering pets, I soon found myself missing the energy and excitement of working with talented colleagues and learning to use new software and online collaboration tools. I realized that a Virtual Assistance practice would dovetail beautifully with Catnip Hill, letting me combine my own experience as a small business owner with my love of technology and my excellent communication skills to support other independent professionals. I graduated from AssistU, the premier Virtual Assistance training program, and launched Callisto Virtual Assistance in 2008.

I’m an avid reader, an animal lover, a gadget geek, a Mac fan, an aspiring gardener, and a pretty good cook. I live near Madison, Wisconsin, with three cats, two minature horses, twelve chickens, and a hamster, and I love to shop at the farmer’s market or try out a new restaurant with friends.
